As the title of this post states, this is gonna be the last update for Sonic Blue Comics, a website that I've been running (off-and-on, had to throw that in there XD) for a little over four years. I know this decision seems kinda sudden, but I've had it in mind for awhile and now I'm lookin' forward to other projects in the future. No hard feelings though--I'm pretty happy with the way everything turned out, and I've gotta say thanks to everyone who stopped by and gave their support. You guys made editing those td's and br's (still don't know WTF any of that sh*t means) a lot more fun than it was supposed to be. XD

Fortunately, even though the Sonic Blue label's coming to an end, all the fan comics will still be made available in archives. Better yet, a select few like SonicPKM and S3K (in addition to some possible new ones...) will continue to see steady releases by none other than Nuckles87, Dashfox, and Justin. Keep an eye out for their upcoming projects this month and throughout the rest of the year.

So thanks a lot for visiting, whether you just hopped on the bandwagon with Sonic Fusion, or were there from the start, back when I was scribbling on sheets of notebook paper and calling them "Sonic V issues." Also, a big thanks goes out to my staff and friends who always helped me out whenever I was blowin' sh*t up. :) It's been a lot of fun, and I wish you all luck in the future.

New Forum!

Here at Sonic Blue, we value the importance of New Year's resolutions, and have already applied them to our work on the site, all to enhance your viewing pleasure for 2007. Justin has resolved to stop staring at Metara's titanium breasts, Nuckles has resolved to make an entire conference of artists for his SonicPKM comic, instead of just one team, and Dash has resolved to start more fights with the Pirate Division and ultimately use his ninja powers to control the message board.

Meanwhile, I've resolved to stop drinking. Unfortunately, that resolution's already gone to hell, so I've also resolved to actually inform visitors of updates when they happen. With that said, it'd be a good idea to let everyone know that the Sonic Blue Community Forum moved from its home on Proboards to a newer, sexier one on Ikonboard about a month ago. This new forum's still under construction (but still 100% functional), and there was some confusion during the move, but as of right now, that's the official forum, and it's where we'll be stationed for the foreseeable future. Be sure to sign up and join in the fun!

Hello Hello Hello

Well this is sonic blue jack of all trade’s dashfox1! You may know my work from a few pages of sonic pkm inker of S3nk preview of sonic fusion and creator of the sonic fusion pages. Last but definitional not last the founder of the ninja division of the security on the forum.

Well TCM our great and mighty leader has disappeared right when moving forums so old one is locked and the new one is in limbo The guy needs to give out keys before disappearing.

But any way the reason I’m updating the site has slowed down some what but don’t worry we’ll be back with the classics you love like sonic pkm, S3nk, sonic fusion and maybe even a staffers or 2.

I am proud to tell you all that the first issue of the second best comic Sonic Blue ever made (after SonicPKM, of course ^^) has just been released. You can take a look at it here:

All I can tell you is this is certainly one of the more interesting stories I've worked on. Dash's art and general idea for this issue was very creative and had a very nice setting to it, and I feel my writing complimented the atmosphere where going for quite well. Let us know what you think. This isn't represenative of what the other issues will be like. Think of this as a little "teaser".

Back in the Game

Yeah, readers... I'm proud to say Sonic Blue Comics DID survive Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 which is a lot more than we can say for Sonic Heroes, the game that saw us pack our bags and peace outta here faster than Sonic Team's credibility. I didn't actually play the game myself, and never really planned to anyway, but I heard what a lotta members of the community had to say about it, and it all makes me happy that I still haven't picked up a new Sonic game since early 2004. With that said, I can't really feel bad for the people complaining about how bad the most recent one is... They've been sucking for three years now, what'd you expect?

First and foremost, you're gonna notice our new layout, compared to the tired one from earlier this year. Main logo's curtesy of Metara and the many artists who've contributed to our fan comic pages over the years, so big thanks to them for allowing us to get our sh*t together and create a new site design. =)

On top of that, we've got some more good news, in addition to JMD rejoining us (see below): A new title, Sonic Fusion, which has been in the works for over a month now, will finally see the light of day on December 4, 2006. A preview by Dashfox will be released before then. Also, some long-awaited new material for SonicPKM will be appearing in the coming weeks which will feature new artists, and a great story that'll lead up to the huge battle royale climaxing (haha, "climaxing") in issue 2.

So keep checking the site this week and over this next month, as it'll be filled with new updates for you to enjoy. Finally, we hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving, we're thankful for the feedback we've received for Sonic RUSH #2, and go to the forum, dammit.

Actually Some GOOD News

Due to curcumstances beyond my control, my computer froze up, and a bunch of bad shite happened. But, now that my computer is fixed, I can get things rolling again! I hope to at least make up for somethings that I haven't had a chance to do...Slowly.

So, I'm coming back to take care of business, I guess.

Construction COMPLETED, SonicPKM Update

Hello, boons. This is your lord and master speaking.

TCM has finally finished uploading the stuff he told me he would a month ago. College and drinking's been keeping him a bit busy, hence the lateness. If you'll check around the site, you'll find:

-A new site dedicated to Sonic Blue's short lived classic, "Sonic RUSH". Both issues have been uploaded in full, as well as some info on some old stuff. Read it either out of nostalgia or boredom, and let us know what you think of it on the forums. Who knows, if you like it enough, we may start it up again.

-A new site dedicated to Sonic Blue's longer lived classic, "Sonic V", complete with two never before seen issues, and unused ideas and storylines. On top of all that, the site employees the very lovely look fan favorite Metara used on the site years ago. Let us know what you think of these ancient relics on the forums.

-The staff comics site has been uploaded. While the front page still says "Coming Soon", you can see 10 of the comics already completed in archives. Keep in mind, they are not in chronological order. You can see all of the comics currently drawn by Dash (and most written by moi) on the Sonic Blue forums. The humor is mostly in jokes, but let us know what you think.

-Dash's art site "Foxfire" has been linked. Check it out to view his beautiful pieces of art. Be sure to tell him what you think about it personally on the forum.

- And finally, SonicPKM's final chapter for issue 1 has been uploaded. Be sure to check it out, and give us some feedback on the issue as a whole in the forum. Criticism is welcome.

And...thats it for now. We didn't get to update everything we wanted to update, but it's mostly all here. Expect some slow but steady updates in the upcoming weeks and months.

SonicPKM's second issue is still currently on track for it's November 24th debut, with three full chapters making up the next issue. This issue was originally planned to be released in 11 full chapters on this date, but time constraints and changes in the staff wouldn't allow for it. The second half of issue 2 is expected to see either a December or January release at this point. The issue is featuring comic art from the likes of Netraptor, Sonic Fanatic, Yuski, and Dashfox, as well as beautiful comic art and cover art from Airlight. We still have possible openings for artists, so if any of you aspiring artists want to try your hand at comic art, give us a call.

Overheard at a recent staff meeting in Sonic Blue HQ:

Nuckles87: (slaps TCM with a ruler) Quiet!

I was kinda busy, updating the site and all, so I didn't notice that I was being slapped by a ruler or ordered to bust out the tablet jutsus, and that's why there's new content for today instead of, say, Nuckles87 stuck in a coma at the end of some dark alley (those tablet jutsus can be a real bitch sometimes).

S3K, that comic I started about a month ago and forgot about until Justin and Dashfox showed me this kickass collaboration page they had done for it, has been updated. Hopefully we can continue with a steady chain of releases, instead of the whole one page per month deal we were trying to pull off earlier. Will we make it? Or are we gonna fail? I guess you'll just hafta kick back and enjoy the show while you wait to see what happens.

More Updates Ahead

Whatup, Sonic Blue! After the Festivus (for the rest of us) that was SonicPKM, more updates are hitting the site, since I've finally gotten off my lazy ass and started cutting into the work that's been in front of me for pretty much a month now. :P

This week, you have to look forward to:

-Sonic RUSH #1, in all its embarassing 2003 artwork glory. This was a pretty big comic back in the day, so check it out if you missed the party the first time, or if you just wanna have a reason to point and laugh at me for drawing it, whichever one works out. I'm gonna follow up in the near future with a full-fledged Sonic RUSH mini site that'll have all the old stuff: story info, character profiles, etc. So stick around, and check out the world of SegaSonic in comic form.

-New staff members: SilverenX and Sunset Fox! Welcome 'em aboard, as you'll be seeing their work on the site shortly. Both of them are extremely talented and I'm sure you're all gonna enjoy what they have to bring to the table this summer.

Coming Soon:

-Chapter 11 of SonicPKM: Yeah, it's late, and it's kinda my fault, but I'll be getting it out the door shortly. Keep checkin' back for more details on it.

-S3K #002: This one's definitely way overdue, considering the last page of this comic came out about a month ago. I'll be getting on that too this week, so again, check back for updates.

The Final Countdown

It was a dark and stormy night at Sonic Blue HQ. In the early morning hours of June 23, 2006, four men were putting the finishing touches on the collective work of countless talented fans. The melody of the classic rock song resounded throughout the room as the finishing touches were put a project that had spent over a year in development. A project that supercharged its way through the Spring for a release on none other than Sonic the Hedgehog's anticipated 15th anniversary. A project that would officially relaunch Sonic Blue in all its past glory. A project that realigned old ties and formed new ones, eventually spawning a 50+ page artist extravaganza featuring the likes of Metara, TcmSonic, Dashfox, Silveren X, and many more.

Ladies and gentleman, Sonic Blue is proud to present Sonic PKM, the latest addition to its library. But as you'll soon find out, the work of Nuckles87 is much more than just another fan comic. It's the product of an ambitious goal, an inspiring vision, and the drive to turn them into realities by fans just like yourselves. As you read through the pages of all ten chapters in the comic's premier issue, you'll be taking in more than just an intriguing story and impressive artwork--you'll be enjoying the rewards of a job well done, from which dozens of artists, writers, site designers, and miscellaneous helpers can now sit back and catch their collective breaths.

On behalf of all the workers who had a hand in this project, I'd like to thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoy the issue. Because as I type this at 10 to 5 AM after a long night of work with three other guys, I'm speaking for everyone else who contributed to this project during its long journey to where it is now: completion, and ultimately, success.

SonicPKM

If you've been around the forum or just following the Sonic Blue production process for the past few weeks, you'll know that we've got some heavy involvement in a project by a dude named Nuckles87 called SonicPKM. Set for a release on June 23, the 15th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, the comic will launch it's very first issue featuring over 40 pages handled by an all star team of Sonic Blue's artists and then some. Not only that, but it's jam packed with eleven chapters that spent over a year in development, allowing Nuckles87 to flex his writing muscles and give us what'll be the beginning of an epic story that's sure to blow you away and present to you the Sonic X and Pokemon universes like you've never seen them before.

Check it out in the previews section at the right, and check back again on June 23 for the first issue's release!

Nah, I haven't disappeared yet. I'm just checking in to let everyone know new content's on the way for the site: Sonic RUSH will most likely be up this weekend, depending on how long my lazy ass can stand to be in front of the computer re-editing the text balloons and trying to remember what the hell I had in mind all those times I ad-libbed dialogue back in... uhh, what was it? Two thousand three? Yikes, this is gonna be harder than I thought. XD Sonic PKM, the comic brought to you by Nuckles87 featuring work from like twenty million different, extremely talented artists including Metara, Dashfox, SilverenX and me, is gonna have a preview over there on the sidebar so that everyone can see the earthquake that's gonna shake up this site on June 23. I'm also finally gonna update S3K, with a new page from the Justin/Dashfox tag team combo. You can take a look at it in the forum; I gotta say that I'm beyond impressed with the work they put into it and needless to say, I can't wait 'til this comic really kicks off so I can see more. :)

So yeah, that's pretty much it. Keep coming back to see new stuff and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GO TO THE FORUM AND REPLY TO MY WORLD CUP TOPIC. IT ONLY COMES EVERY FOUR F*CKING YEARS, GET PSYCHED.

Alright, we've got content now... technically...

The first page of the S3K comic (check it out to the right) is finally complete. In addition to that, you don't hafta deal with that little red "x" anymore, because the page has also got a banner now. Problem is, I kinda blew up the S3K minisite while I was working on updating it, so now the place is closed for maintenance. Expect it to be back up tomorrow, if I can figure it out that soon (Hahaha, odds of that happening aren't looking to bright right now).

If you've absolutely gotta see the page before tomorrow and can't wait for the site to be completed, head on over to "Sonic Blue @ dA" (links up at the top) and take a look at Recent Deviations.

In addition to that, the Sonic Blue site is about complete (check out the new images on the Welcome Page!) and if you keep checkin' back this week, you'll finally get a glimpse of Sonic Blue's "Future" and will also get to see more old comics, like Sonic RUSH.

Lastly, I want everyone to welcome Justin M. Durden to the Sonic Blue staff! He'll be contributing that wicked style of his to the S3K comic pages, where it'll be much needed. As most of you know, he's been a regular at the forum for a long time now, and having seen his artwork evolve over these past few years, I'm glad to say that he's finally bringing his talent to the site. :D
